SPEECH WRITING

Eng 306—speech writing
I'm
glad you made it up here on Friday night. Probably you can have other plans like to go
out to eat or go to the movies. But you
come here and we take care about our topic seriously. I hope we get some motivations for change and
share information with this meeting.
My
son, john, is 10 years old boy. He is over
160 pounds. The doctor was diagnosed his
condition by medically obese. However, John
is not treated as a special case because there are so many obese young children.
Look at this graph. We have the highest percentage of overweight
and obese children in the world. Meaning
of the graph is that many numbers of children of America will be obese adults
with high possibility. And obese adults have
high risk to get disease like diabetic, heart disease, high blood pressure, and
arthritis than normal body weight adults. We need to think seriously what makes our
children fatter and how we are going to treat their condition.
The
first, I request changes to schools. Do
you know what kinds of menu in the school cafeteria? Most of them are junk foods like hot dog,
pizza, hamburger and macaroni cheese. These
foods contain a lot of salt and fat. It makes
taste better. Also these are much cheaper
than salad or fruits. So, children
choose unhealthy foods. I request
schools support healthy food with cheaper prices even they cannot make money
with it. And eliminate unhealthy food on
the menu. Schools also require more units
with athletic classes or graduate. I
hope our children learn how much pleasure to moving their bodies is.
Second,
I request change to each families. Do you ever find some chips or candies while
watching TV or when you are bored? Well,
me too. And we have seen that our
children to act in the same way with us.
They usually stay home to play video games or watch TV and eat what they
want. Unhealthy life style makes them
fat! We should eat healthy food and move
more. The HOPE program helps families to
make a healthy eating plan and an activities schedule. Any families can apply the program. It is free and helpful. We should know our little changes can make our
children’s future healthier.
Every
day we hear a lot of health information. So maybe somebody can say that today presentation
does not have new information. However, I
hope my speech give you some motivation to change.
overweight and obese statistic
Every year, a
number of overweight children are increased.
over 15% of children (4-19) are overweight.
speech exercise ---------"Education"
From two
speeches, Obama was talking about education to different target groups. Audiences
of the first speech were students from element school to high school. The day
of speech was the first day of back to the school. When the president started the speech, he told
about tension and excitement of new school life and a simple greeting. Also he told his experience how he got
educated. These stories gave audiences a
little more fun and attention. And then
he went thought the main topic: students’ responsibility to their education. He used simple words and short sentences. Main focus was clean and simple. Audiences of the second speech were teachers
and administration of preschools. The day
of speech was the valentine day. The
first he increased the attention from audiences with simple jokes and greeting
words. Then he went over to the topic of
the speech. He told all young children
have the right to get high quality early education. He had a goal to create a good environment for
early education and asked help to teachers. The president used little difficult words and
longer sentences.

The Healthy Silver Life: make your life safe.
When we talk about safe life, people think lightly about fall. People do not know well about injuries with falling. Every year, one in every three adults over 65 years old falls. (CDC 2013) Falls can cause several injuries such as fractures of hip, legs, or arm and brain trauma. . Over 95% of hip fractures are caused by falls. In 2010, 2.3 million nonfatal fall injuries among older adults were treated in emergency departments and more than 662,000 of these patients were hospitalized. (CDC 2013) These injuries can be the leading cause of early death. The Healthy Silver life is going to really help to prevent fall. The program has a lot of interest in order to improve the health and quality of life of elder age. The program concerned parties say most accident fallings can be prevented. Many elderly people are ignore the risk of fall and do not have any knowledge about falling injuries. The apathy is making a lot of falling accidents. The program supports the activity class to educate elderly people to prevent falling easily.
The activity class includes a game and dance time. These activities improve balance and leg strength. The class helps people to make their home safer by adding grab bars inside and outside the bathtub, shower, or stairways and improving the lighting. Also, it recommends ingesting more calcium and vitamin D.
Elderly people do not want to admit that their bodies are getting weaker and older. So, they ignore how much they need the education for safe lives. However, we know if they accept their bodies change and get the education they will enjoy safe lives. I hope people get more knowledge about preventing fall and get better quality of lives.

Dr. Ingmar and various nurses who belong to the California Children Hospital in Los Angeles created The HOPE program for families who have overweight and obese children. During March 2013, parents can receive expert advice through this program. In order to foster a healthy environment for their children, parents must learn how to change their life first. Dr. Ingmar is offering this consultation at no charge and counseling will include children.
Among children ages 2–19, about 1 in 3 are overweight and obese. (American Heart and Stork Association 2012) Every year, the percentage of obese children is increased and Parents of these children are not sure what to do, so they have fears that their children might become obese adults. The program, they are providing to the parents emphasizes ways they should change their way of life to a healthier lifestyle which well make their children’s life healthier too. The program suggests that parents support meals to be on time for their children as well as making home cooked food. Parents choose what food their children should eat, but let’s the children decide how much of the food they eat. Also the program suggests parents encourage activities that involved exercise. Dr. Ingman and HOPE recommend parents should limit children’s television and internet time less than 30 minutes per day. Instead internet time, children do more activities outside.
Make eating healthier and encourage exercise for whole family lifestyle. These is not a single member of family on a “special diet”
Focus what kind food children eat to have the energy, rather than focusing on specific calorie intake.
Encourage children to join a sports team and outside activists.
Parents can get a guide line form the HOPE how to make healthier lifestyle for your children. Still overweight adolescents have a 70% chance of becoming overweight adults. (American heart and stork Association 2012) We can prevent unhealthy condition children with small changes in our lifestyle and The HOPE will help you.
